AI Hunters (Bots)

The Mist is patrolled by AI Hunters — computer-controlled players of the six classes that fight, loot and extract just like you. They aren't named individuals but procedural spawns; here's what each class of bot carries and drops.

Bots scale to a low combat level in this build and roll their gear from tiered pools, so an early-zone Hunter carries common kit while a deeper one can spawn with better. Does Mistfall Hunter use AI?

Does Mistfall Hunter use AI?

That question gets asked two ways. For AI opponents: yes — raids are filled with AI Hunters, computer-controlled players of the six classes that fight, loot and extract alongside real players. For generative AI in the game's art or audio: Mistfall Hunter carries no AI Generated Content Disclosure on its Steam page, which Valve requires of any game shipping AI-generated content, and its enemy-design artwork was selected for the AIAS Game Maker's Sketchbook in May 2026. The developers have made no public statement claiming generative AI use.

Does Mistfall Hunter use AI-generated art?

There is no AI Generated Content Disclosure on its Steam store page. Valve requires that disclosure from any game shipping art, audio or code made with generative AI tools, so the absence is a meaningful signal — though it rests on the developer completing the disclosure honestly rather than on any independent audit. Separately, the game's enemy design was selected for the AIAS Game Maker's Sketchbook art exhibition in May 2026. We've found no developer statement either claiming or denying generative AI use.

Are the players in my lobby bots?

Early on, many are. Players report that low-level solo lobbies rely heavily on AI Hunters and gradually fill with real players as your level rises, so the mix shifts toward humans the longer you play.

What do bots drop when killed?

An AI Hunter drops its carried gold plus a roll from its class gear pool, so hunting them is a real loot source — each class of bot draws from the tiered pools listed on this page.
