Level Progression
Level 12 is the cap. Getting there costs 14,400 XP in total and awards 8 talent points — here is the XP each level asks for, where that XP actually comes from, and what every class unlocks on the way.
How many runs to the next level?
In a Hallowgrove · Normal run as a trio, a chest pays 7 / 15 / 22 / 30 XP depending on its rung, a hunter kill pays 30, and the best monster in the game pays 80. Runs never drop below one per level, because a single raid stops awarding XP the moment you have banked the level you started it in. Skipping the raids entirely, the Upgrade Boost would close the same gap for 3,600 Gyldenblod.
Level table
XP is per level, not cumulative — the running total is the column beside it.

The survival bonus is a flat payout for staying in a raid at least that long — it lands whether you escape or not. Each level also defines a per-raid XP limit, which the game does not surface anywhere in its own interface; a run stops paying out sooner than that anyway, the moment you have banked the level you entered on.
Where the XP comes from
A raid pays account XP five ways: escaping, surviving long enough for your level, killing monsters, opening chests, and killing other hunters. Kills and chests pay every living teammate the same amount you earned; escaping and the survival bonus are yours alone. Every payout except escaping and surviving also depends on the run — solo runs pay roughly triple a 3-player run per kill, and Chaos and Cataclysm pay about 30% more than Normal. In the two tables below, solo columns cover Hallowgrove only — Brandrgarde has no solo queue — and Chaos and Cataclysm pay identical XP, even though Cataclysm's monsters carry more health.
Escaping and hunter kills
| Mode | Escape | Hunter kill | Queues |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hallowgrove · Normal | 50 | 30 | Solo · 3-player |
| Brandrgarde · Normal | 55 | 35 | 3-player |
| Hallowgrove · Chaos | 65 | 40 | Solo · 3-player |
| Brandrgarde · Cataclysm | 65 | 40 | 3-player |
Escape XP is the same whoever you queue with, and — with the survival bonus — it is the part of a run's XP that doesn't depend on how the run went. AI hunters count as hunter kills. Full zone details are on the maps page.
Buying levels with Gyldenblod
The Upgrade Boost skips the grind entirely: it fills every level you have left in one purchase, priced off the XP still owed. The rate depends on how far you have upgraded the Gyldenblod Pool.
| Gyldenblod Pool | XP per Gyldenblod | Level 1 → max costs |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1–8 | 4 | 3,600 |
| Level 9 | 8 | 1,800 |
Chest XP
Every chest in the game pays one of four rungs. Which rung a container sits on is not something you can read off its name — several names appear on more than one rung, so the same “Silver Chest” label covers two different payouts.

Changing class
You can switch your hunter to another class at any time — the price is Gyldenblod and it scales with your account level. Every switch starts a cooldown before you can switch again, plus a reversion window of the same length: change your mind inside it and you can go straight back to your previous class for free, cooldown ignored.
| Level | Cost | Cooldown | Reversion window |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Free | — | — |
| 2–6 | Free | 3 min | — |
| 7 | 200 Gyldenblod | 1 hr | 1 hr |
| 8 | 400 Gyldenblod | 1 hr | 1 hr |
| 9 | 600 Gyldenblod | 1 hr | 1 hr |
| 10 | 800 Gyldenblod | 1 hr | 1 hr |
| 11 | 1,000 Gyldenblod | 1 hr | 1 hr |
| 12 | 1,500 Gyldenblod | 1 hr | 1 hr |
The game blocks the switch until you have deposited your valuables in the warehouse, left your team and cancelled matchmaking — so do it between runs, not while a queue is up.
Frequently asked questions
What is the max level in Mistfall Hunter?
Level 12. Getting there from level 1 takes 14,400 XP in total and hands out 8 talent points along the way. Level 12 is the end of the account track — it needs no further XP, and the per-raid XP limit stops applying.
How do you level up fastest in Mistfall Hunter?
Escape. Escaping pays 50–65 XP depending on the mode, and along with the survival bonus it is the part of a run you can count on — you keep it even if you killed nothing. Stack the survival bonus on top by staying in long enough for your level (2 minutes at level 2, up to 10 at level 10), and open every chest on the way out. Solo runs pay noticeably more XP per kill and per chest than 3-player runs, but in a squad every kill and chest also pays your living teammates, so the team total is what matters.
Can you gain more than one level in a single raid?
No. Once the XP you have banked in a run reaches what your current level requires, the run stops awarding XP — kills, chests and the escape bonus all stop counting. Whatever would have overflowed into the next level is lost, so a run that levels you up is a good moment to head for an escape portal.
Do you share XP with your teammates?
Partly. Monster kills, chest opens and hunter kills pay every living teammate the same XP you earned — being downed at that moment means missing out. Escaping and the survival bonus are individual: each hunter earns their own.
Can you buy levels in Mistfall Hunter?
Yes. The Upgrade Boost fills every remaining level at once for Gyldenblod, at 4 XP per Gyldenblod — so a full run from level 1 to 12 costs 3,600. Upgrading the Gyldenblod Pool to level 9 doubles the rate to 8 XP per Gyldenblod, halving that to 1,800.
How much does it cost to change class?
Nothing until level 7, then 200 Gyldenblod rising to 1,500 at level 12. Every switch starts a cooldown (3 minutes early on, 1 hour from level 7) and a reversion window of the same length, during which you can switch straight back to your previous class for free, ignoring the cooldown. You have to deposit valuables in the warehouse, leave your team and cancel matchmaking before the game will let you switch.
