Is Mistfall Hunter Crossplay?

Yes — Mistfall Hunter has full crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Here's how playing across platforms actually works: parties, Player IDs, matchmaking, and the two things that don't cross over — your progress, and your region.

Yes, Mistfall Hunter has crossplay. PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S all share one server pool, so hunters on any platform can squad up in co-op or meet in PvP. There is no toggle to enable. Cross-progression is a separate thing, and Mistfall Hunter does not have it: your characters and gear stay on one platform.

There is no PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch version, so those pairings do not exist. The only thing that stops two hunters partying is being on different server regions, which is covered below.

How crossplay works

All three launch platforms — PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — play on one shared server pool. There is no toggle to set up: crossplay is simply how the game runs, in both co-op and PvP. Because Mistfall Hunter is a PvPvE extraction game, that means the squad that third-parties your boss fight can be on any platform, and so can the teammates who pull you back up. Matchmaking groups you by region and by your gear's Combat Value — see raids & match rules for how lobbies are built.

No cross-progression — plan for it

The catch: progress does not follow you between platforms. Characters, stash, gold and unlocks live on the platform where you made them, and owning the game twice won't merge them. If you split time between a PC and a console, treat one as your main — your currencies and gear collection won't sync. Crossplay still lets you raid with friends anywhere; it's only the account progress that stays put.

Crossplay is not cross-region — this is what usually blocks an invite

These get confused constantly, and the distinction matters more than the platform one: crossplay is across platforms, cross-region is across servers. Mistfall Hunter has the first and not the second. Hunters assigned to different server regions cannot party together — a North American player can't squad with a friend on European servers even though both own the game and can see each other online.

So if an invite fails, check the region before you blame the platform. Platform never blocks a party; region does. The stated reason is latency: this is an extraction game where you lose real gear on a death, so delayed hit registration costs players their loot. The developers have acknowledged the demand and say they're working on it, but there is no region unlock yet.

Playing with friends across platforms

  1. Finish your first run so the hub and its social features unlock.
  2. Open the social menu and search your friend's numeric Player ID (or nickname) — Steam, PSN and Xbox friend lists don't carry over, so swap IDs outside the game first.
  3. Party up — squads run solo, duo or trio in any platform mix. Duos can switch off Fill Party to keep the third slot empty.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mistfall Hunter crossplay?

Yes. Mistfall Hunter has full crossplay between PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. All three platforms share one server pool, so a PC player, a PS5 player and an Xbox player can squad up in the same raid — or meet each other as enemies in PvP.

Does Mistfall Hunter have cross-progression or cross-save?

No. Characters, inventory and currency stay on the platform where you created them. Buying the game on a second platform does not merge or transfer your progress, so pick your main platform before you invest serious hours.

How do I play with friends on other platforms?

Finish your first run to unlock the hub, then open the social menu and search your friend's numeric Player ID (or nickname). Platform friend lists (Steam, PSN, Xbox) don't carry over — the in-game Player ID is what links hunters across platforms.

How many players can be in a party?

Up to three. You can queue solo, duo or trio in any mix of platforms. If you queue as a duo, you can turn off the Fill Party option to avoid being matched with a random third.

Does crossplay affect PvP matchmaking?

PC and console hunters share the same lobbies, so you can face players on any platform. Matchmaking is region-based and factors your gear's Combat Value rather than your platform.

Can I play with a friend in another region?

No. Crossplay and cross-region are different things, and Mistfall Hunter only has the first. Hunters assigned to different server regions can't party together — a North American player can't squad with a friend on European servers even though both can see each other online. The developers have acknowledged this and say they're working on it, but there is no region unlock yet.

Why can't I invite my friend even though crossplay works?

The usual cause is region, not platform. Platform never blocks a party — PC, PS5 and Xbox all share one pool — but a different server region does. Check which region you're each assigned to before assuming the invite is broken.

Is Mistfall Hunter cross-platform?

Yes — cross-platform and crossplay mean the same thing here. PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S all share one server pool for both PvE raids and PvP.
