Beginner Guide
New to the Mist? Here's the game's own tutorial, distilled — the controls and the core tips on moving, fighting, looting, staying alive and getting out with your loot.
Controls
The actions you'll bind keys (or pad buttons) to. Mistfall Hunter shows the live binding in-game; these are what each one does.
Movement
Use Move Camera to control the camera. Hold ForwardLeftBackRight to move.
Jump
Press Jump to jump over obstacles.
Crouching
Press Crouch to crouch.
Climb
Find a ladder to return to the bridge.
Crouching
While crouching, press Crouch to stand up.
Energy
When your character runs out of Energy, they become Exhausted for a short time, unable to perform actions that require Energy.
Seers excel not only at buffing allies and debuffing enemies, but can also summon runes to turn the tide of battle.
Gyldenmist Spreading
The Gyldenmist has begun to spread. Please move to a safe zone ahead of time to evade it. Press Map to open the map and check the spread of the Gyldenmist.
Combat
Destroy the fence
Press Attack to attack.

Dodge

Damage Falloff
The damage dealt by some skills will decrease as the attack distance increases.

Press Attack to fire a psionic orb. Hold Attack to charge and fire a powerful magic orb.
Sneak
When crouching or in Silent Walk mode, your footsteps become quieter, making it harder for monsters to detect you and letting you strike first. Press Crouch to crouch.
Breakaway
When receiving 2 or more attacks with impact in quick succession, press Dodge to perform Breakaway. Can be cast during stagger. Breakaway doesn't consume dodge energy or Energy, but enters cooldown after use. Taking damage or hitting enemies speeds up Breakaway's cooldown recovery.
Enemy
Defeat the rival Gyldhunter.

The Mercenary engages enemies in close combat, excelling in Swords & Shields and Hammers. Switching weapons will change your skills.
Sorcerers use different types of spells to deal damage and provide useful buffs. Hold Major Skill or Minor Skill to switch between spells equipped to Attack or Secondary Attack.
Blackarrows can snipe targets at a distance and use skills for scouting or buffs. Press Arrow 1/Arrow 2/Arrow 3 to switch between normal arrows and special arrows with bonus effects.
Shadowstrix excels at ambushes and burst damage, wielding either Daggers or Dual Blades. Switching weapons will change your skills.
Faith (Seer)
Seers can only use weapons and skills corresponding to their current faith. As a Reverent, you may only use Catalysts and cannot use Maces or their corresponding skills. Seers can pledge or renounce oaths in the Skills interface to switch their current faith.
You can switch to a Blasphemer by clicking Renounce Oath in the Skills interface. This enables the use of Maces and their corresponding skills, but disables the use of Catalysts. In addition to mastering various runic abilities that enhance their attacks, Blasphemer Seers can enter the Zeal state to gain temporary enhancements.
Switch Weapons
When equipped with a weapon, press Swap Weapon to switch weapons. You can also equip and switch weapons in your Inventory.
The Knight excels at using a Greatsword to apply sustained pressure to enemies. Landing consecutive hits on an enemy will mark them. Breaking the mark grants increased damage and as well as a buff to the Knight.
Encounters
The battlefield is fraught with danger—always be on guard against attacks from other Gyldhunters.
Skill Equip
You have two weapons you can switch between, each with its own unique skills.

Additionally, each weapon can be customized with 2 weapon-specific skills. Level up to unlock more skills.
Skill Equip
The Sorcerer has access to both Common Magic and Inheritance Magic. Inheritance Magic is divided into two schools: Stardust and Elemental. Only one school's skills can be equipped at a time. Level up to increase the number of configurations per slot and unlock new spells.

Regardless of whether you choose the Stardust or Elemental school, Common Magic can be freely combined with either choice. The number of spells you can equip increases as you level up.

Blackarrow can equip up to 3 special arrows and 3 skills. Level up to unlock more choices.

The Reverent Seer's skills are divided into two categories: Rune Pillars and Divine Arts. Equipping different runes will grant various effects to the Rune Pillar. Combining different divine arts can produce a variety of effects. Some runes and divine arts are mutually exclusive, allowing only one to be equipped at a time.

In addition to mastering various runic abilities that enhance their attacks, Blasphemer Seers can enter the Zeal state to gain temporary enhancements.
Boss Challenge
When the boss enters combat, a barrier will form inside the Challenge Zone to block other Gyldhunters from entering. Gyldhunters near the barrier can interact with it to leave the enclosed area.
Boss Challenge
Red zones on the map indicate territories of powerful bosses. When fighting them, a barrier will temporarily form around the area to block other Gyldhunters from entering. The barrier automatically forms when the monster enters combat. Interact with the barrier when nearby to exit it.
Energy Cost
Certain classes consume Energy to cast skills or perform actions. When Energy is depleted, these actions cannot be performed.
Power Icon (Enemy)
There are high-difficulty monsters in the scene, marked with special Power Icons above their heads. Assess your strength before challenging them!
Breakaway
When receiving 2 or more attacks with impact in quick succession, press Dodge to perform a Breakaway. It can be performed during stagger.
Equip Better Gear
Equip higher-rarity equipment in a timely manner to enhance your combat power, and utilize gear builds to gain the upper hand in battle.
Blessing
When your character levels up, you can gain additional skills and talents through Dew's blessing, obtaining even greater power.
Hitting weak points deals critical hits, increasing damage based on Critical Damage and enhancing impact, making it easier to knock enemies back. The head is a weak point for both Gyldhunters and most monsters.
Breakaway
When receiving 2 or more attacks with impact in quick succession, the Breakaway icon will light up. Press Dodge at this time to break out of the stagger and regain control.
Swift Rise
When knocked down, press Dodge during the stand-up animation to quickly get up.
Frozen units cannot move or attack, but the Frozen duration can be shortened by pressing Dodge. The more you press Dodge, the shorter the Frozen duration will be, but each press consumes Energy.
Breakaway 03
Taking damage or hitting enemies speeds up Breakaway's cooldown recovery.
Utilize the combat techniques you've mastered to defeat the enemy before you.
Distance control is the core of survival for ranged classes. When an enemy gets close, use your survival skills in a timely manner to defuse the crisis.
Blasphemer 01
When Blasphemers have full Curse Mana, Secondary Attack will be replaced by the currently selected Rune: Enchanted Heavy Strike. Casting the Enchanted Heavy Strike will consume all Curse Mana.
Blasphemer 02
Curse Mana automatically regenerates over time. Hitting enemies with Attack or Secondary Attack also recovers Curse Mana.

Loot
Approach and aim, then press Interact to loot.

You can often find weapons by looting equipment racks. Press Swap Weapon to switch to another equipped weapon.

Gylden Jar
Gyldenblod is a hard currency used for trading. The more you have, the better.

Defeat monsters or loot other Gyldhunters to obtain Gyldenblod.
Kills & Deaths
Kill an enemy to loot all of their items. If you die, you lose everything you carry.
Fighting a boss triggers a timed challenge. If completed within the time limit, Gyldhunters will receive a bonus chest reward.
Resource Zone
Some high-value chests in a zone are locked and require defeating the guardian monster to unlock.
Scavenger Squad
You can dispatch the Scavenger Squad to designated areas to scavenge for loot or treasures.
Scavenger Squad
You can choose a high-risk strategy with higher yield, but doing so requires paying additional expedition materials. The Scavenger Squad typically take several hours to complete their expedition. Once finished, you can collect the loot from them.
Switch Class
Switching classes requires a certain amount of Gyldenblod and triggers a cooldown. The exact cost and cooldown duration are determined by your character's current level; higher levels require more Gyldenblod and trigger longer cooldowns, while low-level characters can switch for free.

The Gylden Rush is an exclusive event for this playtest! Gyldhunters have a chance to obtain the special item "Golden Cipher" when defeating monsters and opening chests during matches. Successfully extract with these Golden Ciphers and bring them back to camp to have them deciphered by NPCs. Doing so gives you a chance to win deluxe rewards, including Custom Coins, Gyldhunter Badges, Steam Keys (Deluxe/Standard Edition), Golden Woodling - Head, and more! Golden Cipher Drop Period: June 15, 2026, 01:00 UTC+0 to June 21, 2026, 16:00 UTC+0 (Available across all stages at all Gyldening Intensity levels). Healing Elixir
Equip and use Healing Elixirs to restore Health.
Springhorn
Pick up the Springhorn on the pedestal.

Press Heal to use the Springhorn and restore Health. Note: Springhorn uses are limited in each game.
Revive
Go to your death location to reclaim your remains and revive. Note: You cannot revive if killed by rival Gyldhunters.

Press Interact to reclaim your remains and revive.

Go to the marked location and pick up the Springhorn from the pedestal.
Healing Elixir
Healing Elixirs restore Health over time. Use them after combat for a better effect.
Gyldenmist
The Gyldenmist engulfs the entire area after some time. Staying within the Gyldenmist builds up Gyldening in your body. When the Gyldening meter is full, your Health will continuously decrease.
Low Health
Press Heal to drink from the Springhorn and quickly recover a large amount of Health.
Falling
When a Gyldhunter falls off a cliff, they lose a portion of Health and respawn at their previous position. Note: If Health is insufficient, the Gyldhunter will die instantly.
Healing
When not in immediate danger, use Healing Elixirs to restore Health. Save the precious Springhorn for when you need quick healing.
Revive
After being killed by a monster, a Gyldhunter will enter soul form and respawn at a nearby random location. The Gyldhunter must return to their death site and interact with their corpse to complete the revival.
Springhorns depleted
The number of times the Springhorn can be used per game is limited and cannot be replenished.
Extraction
Woodling
Defeat the Woodling to obtain the escape item, Soul of Return.
Soul of Return
Loot the bell dropped by Woodling and gain the Soul of Return.
Escape
Press Summon Portal to consume a Soul of Return and summon an extraction point. Interact with it to escape.

Interact with the escape point to escape.
Returning Chime
Interact with the Returning Chime to summon a Woodling
Returning Chime
A Woodling will appear after some time. Follow the Bell's guidance to find its spawn location. You can continue exploring the surroundings while waiting for the Woodling to appear.

The Woodling has appeared. Follow the sound of the Bell to find it.

Defeat the Woodling. Once defeated, it will transform into a Soul Tree, allowing extraction within its vicinity. Note: The Woodling will flee after some time, so defeat it quickly.
Soul Tree
Near the Soul Tree, press Summon Portal to consume a Soul of Return from the tree and summon an Extraction Point. Interact with it to escape. Note: The Soul Tree will expire after some time, so summon the Extraction Point quickly.
Escape
Interact with the Extraction Point to escape.
Returning Chime
Continue to the marked location and interact with the Returning Chime.

Interact with the Returning Chime to summon a Woodling.
Returning Chime
After interacting with the Returning Chime for a period of time, a Hallowgrove Woodling will be summoned at a random location. Visual effects will indicate where the Woodling will appear. Note: The Returning Chime has a cooldown. After interaction, you must wait before using it again.

When a Hallowgrove Woodling appears or engages, there will be special audio and visual effects revealing reveal its location. After being defeated, it transforms into a Soul Tree. You can ring a bell to summon an extraction point near the tree. Interact with the extraction point to successfully escape. After a successful escape, you get to keep all items carried on you..
Soul Tree
Near the Soul Tree, press Summon Portal to consume a Soul of Return from the tree and summon an Extraction Point.
Mist Lord
Through the portal, you can reach the area where the Mist Lord resides. Gyldhunters can enter the area to begin the challenge. The Mist Lord is extremely powerful, and the area has been temporarily sealed. Please enhance your strength before challenging it.
Once the challenge begins, the portal will generate a barrier to prevent other Gyldhunters from entering. Those currently in the challenge can still interact with the portal to leave. Upon leaving the challenge, Gyldhunters receive a special protection effect, which expires after a set duration or upon manually casting a skill.
Complete exploration, obtain treasures, and survive combat before the Gyldenmist engulfs the entire area. Use the Returning Chime to summon a Hallowgrove Woodling, which transforms into a Soul Tree once defeated. Summon an Extraction Point near the tree to escape.
Returner Woodling
A Returner Woodling has appeared on the map. Defeat it to obtain the escape item, Soul of Return. Note: Returner Woodlings periodically emit bell sounds and special effects visible through walls, allowing you to locate them through audio and visual cues.
Press Interact to interact with an activated Returning Chime and summon a Hallowgrove Woodling to escape.
Explore Hallowgrove
Continue exploring other areas of Hallowgrove and find a way to escape. Press Map to open the map and plan your exploration route.
Hallowgrove Woodling
When a Hallowgrove Woodling appears or engages in combat, special sounds and visual effects will mark its location. Once defeated, the Hallowgrove Woodling transforms into a Soul Tree. Ring the bell nearby to summon an Extraction Point.
Returning Chime
A Woodling will appear after some time. Follow the Bell's guidance to find its spawn location.
Plan your escape
Press Map to open the map and view escape methods and plan your route to extraction points. Use the Returning Chime to escape. Interacting with it summons a Hallowgrove Woodling at a random location.
Brandrgarde
A Returner Woodling will make an appearance every now and then. Defeat it to obtain the escape item, Soul of Return. While exploring Brandrgarde, always monitor the Gyldenmist situation, wait for the Returner Woodling to appear, then defeat it to escape!
Gyldenmist Spreading
The Gyldenmist is about to cover the entire area. Please defeat a Returner Woodling and obtain a Soul of Return to escape as soon as possible.

A Returner Woodling is about to appear. When a Woodling is near a player, they can detect its chimes and a highlight outline, and its location will be revealed on the map. Defeat the Woodling to obtain the escape item, Soul of Return.

Soul of Return
Gyldhunters can carry the Soul of Return, allowing them to flexibly decide when to escape based on the situation. Try not to escape alone when teammates haven't collected enough Souls of Return.
Combat Bag
Using a Combat Bag will automatically equip a free preset Loadout, which cannot be modified. Equipping or unequipping the Combat Bag before entering a map does not consume it. Once you enter a map, the Combat Bag is consumed. If you successfully escape, the Loadout becomes yours.
Hub & Camp
Warehouse
Items placed in the Warehouse will not be brought into your next adventure. Before each departure, be sure to check the items in your inventory. In camp, use Stash to quickly open the Warehouse.
Skill Equip
The Seer has two builds. Switch between the Blasphemer and Reverent tabs to Pledge Oath or Renounce Oath, changing your build. After that, you can only use abilities from your current build. Note that you cannot change builds once a match has started, so make sure to switch before the match begins.
In-Match Task
Soekja's clone is present on the map. Accept and complete the tasks issued by the clone to earn rewards.
Start Exploration
When ready, you can enter the Hallowgrove through Soekja or Matchmaking. Note that if you die during exploration, you will drop all equipment.
Training Grounds Info
The Training Grounds provide a completely safe environment for real combat practice. Players will not die in this area. Here, you can practice defeating various monsters and freely test skill damage. Press Practice Room to open the settings panel and summon bots for PvP practice.

Follow the white crow.

Equipping Items
From the Inventory, you can add frequently-used items to the quickbar. Switch to or use them instantly after equipping.
Death Penalty
Upon death, you will lose all items you are carrying.
Talents
Level up to gain Talent Points. Allocate the Talent Points to activate various bonuses. The allocated points can be reset for free at any time.
Victory Wine
Your trials have proven you worthy of the Victory Wine.
Victory Wine
Victory Wine comes in four varieties: Mortal Tonic, Hero's Ale, Warblood, and Gods' Brew. Mortal Tonic is free before each expedition, while Hero's Ale, Warblood, and Gods' Brew will cost you materials each time and can only become available after you upgrade your Tavern.
Victory Wine
Each brew offers a different number of buffs for your next exploration. Buffs take effect after drinking and last until the end of your next exploration.
The journey of a Gyldhunter is not meant for mortals, but you need not worry about that. Remember to collect the supplies in your mailbox in time.
Smuggler Woodling
Gyldhunters can safely extract with the help of Smuggler Woodlings, but only equipped items and a limited number of selected items can be carried.
View Map
Press Map to view the full map and plan your exploration route based on terrain and icons.
Hostile Gyldhunters have special Power Icons above their heads that reveal their equipment strength. Assess your strength before engaging!
Main Task
You have an active Main Task. Press Map to open the ,map and locate the objective, then head over there to complete the task.
Pip's Pouch
Items placed inside Pip's Pouch will not drop upon death. Note: Equipment cannot be placed inside, and items cannot exceed a certain value.
Brandrgarde
In Brandrgarde, the Gyldenmist's corruption is more treacherous. The Gyldenmist spreads at regular intervals. Press Map to open the map and check the spread of the Gyldenmist.
Workshop
At the Workshop, you can use materials to craft equipment. Powerful gear will significantly improve your chances of success in exploration.
Gem Affix
Some equipment can socket affix gems when there are empty. Socketing these gems activates affix effects, which enhance as the affix levels up.
About Gems and Slots
Gems and slots have four colors. A gem can only be socketed into a slot of the same color. Universal slots can hold gems of any color. Gems and slots have two different tiers. Tier II slots can hold both Tier I and Tier II gems, while Tier I slots can only hold Tier I gems.
About Socketing Gems
On the Equipment Details page, you can quickly filter gems by slot type and automatically socket them all.
Switch Class
Each standard class switch grants a reversion window. During this window, you can revert to your previous class for free.

Once the switch is complete, your character enters a cooldown. You cannot switch to another class again until this cooldown ends.
Breakaway 02
Breakaway doesn't consume Energy, entering a cooldown after use that recovers automatically over time.

Check the Breakaway icon above enemies' heads to see if their Breakaway is ready.
