Skills & Talents

Skills, combos and talents are all assembled from one shared building block: capabilities.

Skills are weapon-driven

Each skill lists the weapon types that enable it, the capabilities it grants, an energy charge cost, and mutually-exclusive groups (mutex) that stop you from stacking conflicting skills. Because skills key off your equipped weapon, your weapon choice shapes the whole kit.

Derived (combo) skills

Derived skills are follow-ups chained off a base skill through press, hold and support-button inputs. They're how combos and conditional finishers are expressed — extra inputs unlock extra actions rather than occupying separate slots.

The talent graph

Talents form a levelled graph: each talent has a maximum level, prerequisite talents, and the capabilities it grants. Progression means investing along a dependency chain, not flipping independent toggles.

Capabilities — the common currency

Weapons, skills and talents all ultimately reference capabilities — the atomic gameplay effects of the game. Build variety comes from how the same capabilities are combined across those three layers.
