About this model
This is an illustrative model, not the game's exact engine. It composes the documented combat stats: Attack × (1 + Increase) × (1 + Mode increase) × (1 + crit EV) × (1 − Reduction). The game keeps the flat-Defence-to-mitigation curve and its weapon / monster coefficients private, so we don't fold flat Defence into the number — we show it after penetration instead (more penetration is always better). Item attack values also exclude your character's base stats, talents and affix rolls, so treat the per-hit figure and hits-to-down as a relative comparison between setups, not a literal in-game number.
