The first time you bring a Nameless Cipher to Dramm at Windrest, they pay five Epic crafting materials on top of the usual deciphering rewards. Any other NPC will still read it and still pay the base rewards, but the bonus is forfeited for this cipher type, once and permanently.

What the scroll says

The text upon the scroll has long since faded, leaving only a few faint words barely legible: Anvil, Furnace.

Every cipher shows a line like this and nothing more. The two words are the puzzle: they point at the one hunter in camp whose trade or history matches them. See all fifteen ciphers and their NPCs.

Where it comes from

Beyond dropping from monsters and chests in a raid, the Nameless Cipher is one of the ciphers a Golden Coffer can grant. Coffers come in several versions and each draws from its own trio, so not every coffer can give you this one: Golden Coffer (210104), Golden Coffer (210106).

Frequently asked questions

Which NPC should I give the Nameless Cipher to?

Dramm. Every camp NPC at Windrest will decipher it, but Dramm is the one who pays the first-delivery bonus for this type: five Epic crafting materials on top of the normal rewards. Hand it to anyone else and you keep the base rewards but lose that bonus permanently for the Nameless Cipher.

Which cipher says "Anvil, Furnace"?

The Nameless Cipher. Those are the two words left legible on its scroll, and they are the game's only hint about who can read it. Take it to Dramm.

What does the Nameless Cipher first-delivery bonus give you?

Five Epic crafting materials, all guaranteed: Mithril Ingot, Exquisite Silk, Runic Tanned Leather, Ripple Gem, Flawless Runestone.

Can you lose a Nameless Cipher?

Yes. A cipher only counts once you extract with it. Dying with one in your bag loses it exactly like any other carried loot, and nothing is banked mid-match.
